An adult film star whose baptism video went viral at the start of the new year has become the latest high-profile public figure to draw attention for a renewed embrace of Christianity.
Videos circulating on social media show Lily Phillips, 24, a British adult content creator who has previously generated headlines for extreme stunts within the industry, being baptized in a church ceremony, with the clips rapidly spreading online on January 1.
The videos amassed 8.1 million views within hours and were widely reposted by large and small accounts alike, prompting renewed public discussion about Phillips’ personal life and spiritual beliefs.

In an interview published December 30, Phillips said her faith had long been part of her life but that the recent baptism marked a conscious recommitment.
“I’ve always been a Christian. So I was baptised as a baby. Throughout my childhood, we would go to church and we had a family member who was a vicar. We were quite involved in Christianity,” she said in the interview with the Daily Star.
“I got baptised on Sunday. It was really good. It was just really nice to kind of reinstate my relationship with God because it kind of deviated for quite a bit of time,” she added, according to the report.
Phillips also indicated that her career in adult entertainment may change as a result of her renewed focus on faith. “It [adult content] has definitely taken a back seat. I’m still trying to figure it out, but I am just trying to prioritise other things going into 2026,” she said in the same interview, per the report.
The content creator is best known for a stunt where she reportedly slept with 1,113 men in 12 hours.
Her baptism places Phillips among a growing list of celebrities and public figures who have publicly spoken about baptism or conversion to Christianity in recent years.
Makeup artist and entrepreneur Kat Von D has documented her faith journey online, including her baptism in 2023 and her later decision to join the Orthodox Church, according to a July 2025 report.
Actor Denzel Washington was baptized shortly before his 70th birthday in December 2024 and later received a minister’s license at a church ceremony in New York, according to a report published at the time.
Musician and media personality Russell Brand has also spoken publicly in recent years about converting to Catholicism.
Public expressions of faith have extended beyond entertainment.
In 2024, Wes Clarke, a player for the Milwaukee Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate, was baptized on the field by teammate Brewer Hicklen after a game, an event widely shared on social media and reported at the time.
