Indoor Fun To Beat The Heat

Andretti’s Indoor Karting & Games is great for kids seeking thrills and exciting attractions. From go-karts to laser tag, bowling to arcade games, your kiddo will surely have a lot of fun.

Hours: Sunday – Thursday, 10 a.m. to 12 a.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.

Down To Play Indoor Playground is a 3,500-square-foot soft play playground with open play. From running to jumping and sliding, the playground is a great way to entertain youngsters, from tikes to big kids. There is also a sensory room for kids who need a break to relax.

Location: 6464 E. NW Hwy Ste. 138 in Dallas.

Hours: Sunday – Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The cost is $20 for a play pass, which can be purchased in a pack for a discount.

Rogue Brick Builders’ Lounge is a build space for all LEGO lovers. The building features a lounge and store with a 30-foot supply of LEGOS. Building mentors are on-site to help bring creations to life.

Location: 5509 S Hulen St. in Fort Worth.

Hours: They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. They are open Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost: $10 a day, adults are free with an additional $5 charge for additional siblings. Monthly passes are $40.

Dallas World Aquarium is a great place to get kids excited about animals and ocean life. The accredited aquarium features a rainforest attraction and a variety of fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, insects, mammals, and more.

Location: 1801 North Griffin St. in Dallas.

Hours: Monday – Sunday 8:30 a.m. with last entries at 4:30 p.m.

Cost: Adult $29.95, $19.95 for children ages 3-12.

Epic Water Indoor Waterpark is great for those seeking water fun without dealing with the Texas heat. The largest indoor waterpark in North Texas features several high-thrill slides, a swimming hole, a lazy river, and much more.

Location: 2970 Epic Place in Grand Prairie.

Hours: Sunday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Cost: A single-day pass for those taller than 48 inches costs $44 or $39 for those under 48 inches. Prices vary based on date and availability.

Outdoor Fun To Soak Up Some Rays

Six Flags Over Texas is a great place for those high thrill seekers and ride lovers. The park features a few water rides to cool off, including the new Aquaman Power Wave. The park also features a section for those little ones to have plenty of fun.

Coyote Drive-In is a great way to sit under the summer stars and enjoy a film from the comfort of your car. The drive-in features different screens for different showings of movies and has a food and drink shack. It also features live music on Fridays and Saturdays before showings.

Location: 223 NE 4th St. in Fort Worth.

Hours: Start times for movies begin around 9 p.m., with showings every day.

Cost: $9.39 for adults and $6.62 for kids.
