After being damaged more than two years ago by a tornado, Fish City Grill at Preston Road and Royal Lane is open once again.

According to FOX 4 News, the North Dallas restaurant was closed in 2019 after it was hit by a tornado. The tornado destroyed the restaurant’s walls and ceiling, forcing staff and customers who were in the restaurant when it struck to run and take cover inside a walk-in cooler.

According to FOX 4 News, Bill Bayne, co-founder Fish City Grill, said it has been a long two years and three months since the tornado hit the restaurant.

“We had a dress rehearsal Friday and Saturday night. We had a lot of our old customers coming in for us to practice on,” Bayne said. “It was just kind of a homecoming.”

The restaurant has moved to a different spot but remains close to its former location on Preston Road. The restaurant now has an outdoor patio and a bigger indoor space.
