An online finance brand is looking to hire a Buc-ee’s taste tester for $1,000.

FinanceBuzz announced Friday that it is seeking the “ultimate road-trip warrior” to sample and rate iconic food items from Buc-ee’s, a Texas-based convenience store chain renowned for its Beaver Nuggets, branded merchandise, numerous fuel pumps, and sparkly-clean bathrooms.

According to FinanceBuzz, the lucky winner — also known as a “Buc-ee’s Bud-ee” — will be paid $1,000 to sample approximately 25 popular foods from the beloved convenience store. FinanceBuzz said it would also pay an additional $250 to cover the cost of food, gas, and merchandise.

The company explained the goal of the project is to guide readers on where to stop to get the best Buc-ee’s experience.

“We’ll use our expert’s official market research to steer FinanceBuzz readers in the right direction on their next journey.”

To be eligible for this side hustle, FinanceBuzz said that candidates “must live near (or be willing to travel to) a Buc-ee’s location, and be willing to try almost any snack they offer.”

The winner will receive a shopping list of items they must sample, including Buc-ee’s Beaver Nuggets, sweet and savory kolaches, hippo tacos, barbecue sandwiches, Buc-ee’s Lemon Crisps, homemade fudge, Buc-ee’s Gummi Bears, biscuits and gravy, banana pudding, and more.

After sampling the food items, the winner must document his experience via written product reviews, which will be used as the basis for an upcoming FinanceBuzz story, the company said.

Applicants must apply online before noon on September 11, 2023, to be considered. The winner will be selected by September 18 and contacted via email. Once the candidate has been chosen, FinanceBuzz will allow two weeks for the task to be completed.

FinaceBuzz noted, “This side hustle is not affiliated with or endorsed by Buc-ee’s. We’re just fans looking for another fan who can help us put a list together of their best snacks. Please do not contact Buc-ee’s directly about this opportunity.”

However, the announcement also stated, “We receive compensation from the products and services mentioned in this story.”
