Days come and go as if time were more of a movement that we must decide to enter on the up or downbeat.
Some days tire us to exhaustion—the beats of time beat us down—and we are left barren of energy and exposed to the elements of spiritual warfare.
Prior to this state, we often are so distracted that we fail to recognize the intentionality of the forces at play.
The forces that separate us from our purpose
The forces to disparage self and others
The forces to infect the mind with fear
Our faith diminishes by the measure of weight we give these armed energies. Allowed to remain heavy upon our spirit, we will soon feel crushed.
In this pressing, friction produces a rawness that lends itself to festering. Soon, we may find ourselves giving less attention to God and more to our grumblings.
In life’s challenges, we can convince ourselves that this is our lot, our life, our story. But whatever today may look like, it is only a beat in the billions of heartbeats we will experience.
Life is experienced one moment at a time, but our timeline is eternal in Christ Jesus. Indeed, life does not end or begin here.
Mother Nature is not the keeper of the Father’s clock.
Calendars and circumstances cannot circumvent the power of God’s promises, Jesus’ blood, and the Holy Spirit’s discernment.
Wrinkles in time will age our minds and bodies, but we can live in peace knowing the crevices are not permanent craters but part of our earthly journey toward our Heavenly Creator.
Along the way, may we come alongside one another — you investing your time and talents — and me sharing mine — so that the song of time is less strained and more of a symphony.
Play on, my brother and sister in Christ. May your music be a sweet sound that draws others closer to God.
