The reply came after user @creation247 wrote, “Someone needs to evangelize Elon Musk. Who will lead him to Christ?” The post included an image of Musk appearing to pray in front of a stained-glass depiction of Jesus.
Musk’s response drew tens of thousands of reactions and thousands of replies within 24 hours. Some users encouraged him to explore Christianity further, while others debated what he meant by agreement.
Musk has made similar remarks in previous interviews and posts.
In a July 2024 video interview with Jordan Peterson, Musk said, “While I’m not a particularly religious person, I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are good.” adding, “I’m actually a big believer in the principles of Christianity. I think they’re very good.”
Musk has also described himself as a “cultural Christian.” In an October 2024 video interview published on X with Tucker Carlson, he said, “I’m culturally Christian I grew up Christian I mean I was Anglican was baptized you know went to Sunday school.”
In a January 2025 video interview with Alice Weidel, Musk stated: “I’m open to the idea of God… If you say, where did the universe come from? How is it created? I suppose there would be some entity that you could call God.”
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Musk said during a December 2025 appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast that he believes the universe “came from something,” referring to that origin as “The Creator.”
“Well, I believe this universe came from something. People have different labels,” Musk said. In the same interview, he warned that Western civilization is “absolutely screwed” without Christianity.
In July 2024, Musk wrote on X: “Unless there is more bravery to stand up for what is fair and right, Christianity will perish.”

In September 2024, he posted a poem reflecting on atheism:
Atheism left an empty space
Secular religion took its placeBut left the people in despair
Childless hedonism sans careMaybe religion’s not so bad
