Get ready to “talk about Bruno” when Disney’s Encanto comes to the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas for a sing-along show on Friday, July 29. The award-winning animated movie will be shown in its entirety while a live band plays all the music from the film.
The Encanto Sing-Along Tour will make additional Texas stops in El Paso (July 26), Lubbock (July 27), and Houston (July 28).
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda composed the entire Encanto soundtrack, drawing inspiration from his previous music-movie production, Moana, and the film’s cultural references.
“When they make a movie, it becomes a lot of people’s first glimpse at that culture, for better or worse. And so they take it really seriously,” Miranda told Deadline. “I had a good experience on (Moana), and I said, ‘If you’re making a Latin-themed, Disney musical, like, I’ve been waiting all my life for the call. And so we chose Colombia because of the incredible diversity and because it’s the home of magical realism.”
For many big and little fans of Encanto, the tour stop in Dallas will be a magical night full of music and memorable experiences like two available VIP packages that include a gift pack and a fun Encanto-themed photo-op.
Encanto did very well during the recent award season. The film picked up a Golden Globe for Best Feature Film, and at the 94th Academy Awards, the movie received three Oscar nominations, including Best Original Score and Best Original Song. Encanto was awarded the Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
The Encanto sing-along film concert will include renditions of popular songs from the movie, such as “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” “Colombia, Mi Encanto,” “¡Hola Casita!” and “Waiting on a Miracle.”
Encanto fans can purchase pre-sale tickets for the Dallas concert through LiveNation. All tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 29.
