If you are someone who loves grilling, eating, and spending time with friends or family, then this weekend has an event hatched just for you: the 6th Annual North Texas EggFest.

EggFest is a family-friendly event that has something for everyone. The event will feature cooking demonstrations, delicious samples, live music, deals on demo Big Green Eggs, quality outdoor furniture, and much more.

The name EggFest is derived from the famous Big Green Egg grills, which are a modern-day take on ancient egg cookers modeled on the clay cooking vessels first seen during the Chinese Qin Dynasty and then used by the Japanese beginning in the 3rd century.

The event will also include team competitions using the Big Green Egg to win bragging rights as the 2022 North Texas Egghead of the Year. Celebrity judges for the event include writer Sara Blaskovich of the Dallas Morning News, Chef Randy White of Live Fire Culinary, Roni Proter of Dinner Reinvented, owner David Cole of i Fratelli Pizza, and Taryn Jones of KTVT / CBS11.

Guests in attendance will be able to vote for their favorite items prepared on the Big Green Egg.

Carter Bloodcare will also be hosting a community blood drive at the event as well.

Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Texas Restaurant Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization that seeks to “provide educational opportunities to build and maintain a strong professional foodservice workforce in Texas.”

EggFest is held at Sunnyland Outdoor Living at Coit and Spring Valley in Dallas on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The “cost” to attend is a suggested donation of $10 per adult and entry for kids under 18 is free.
