The Dallas Arboretum will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Dallas Blooms when festivities kick off later this month.

Beginning February 22 and running through April 13, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden will host the annual event, which showcases an elaborate display of spring flowers.

This year, the theme of the largest floral festival in the Southwest is “Outside the Ordinary.”

“Step Outside the Ordinary and into a world of artistry during Dallas Blooms, featuring the captivating sculptures of Seward Johnson,” reads a description on the event’s website.

“This year, we are thrilled to welcome the largest sculpture ever exhibited at the Arboretum, Crossing Paths. Standing 20 feet tall, this monumental piece leaves its New Jersey home for the first time,” the description continues.

Visitors will enjoy the over half a million blooming bulbs on the grounds, with the majority, around 350,000, being tulips, hyacinths, azaleas, and daffodils.

“Dallas Blooms is more than just a festival; it’s a celebration of nature’s beauty, community connection and artistic inspiration. This year, with the addition of Seward Johnson’s magnificent sculptures, extended evening hours and hands-on activities, we’re offering guests a chance to experience the garden in extraordinary new ways,” said Sabina Carr, president and chief executive of the Dallas Arboretum, per KERA News.

Dallas Bloom will also feature creative arts, fitness classes, chef demos, and live piano performances at noon each weekend in Jeanne’s Pavilion. The exhibit is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and tickets are $25.95 for adults, $21.95 for children ages two through 12, and free for kids under two. Tickets can be purchased directly on the Dallas Arboretum website.

As previously reported in The Dallas Express, the annual festival was ranked as one of “The Best Places to See Stunning Spring Blooms Across the South,” according to Southern Living.
