Known as the “biggest street party” in Dallas, the annual Halloween Block Party is still going on this year, but in a different location.

“Due to COVID concerns and city recommendations, the street party is being held at the parking lot behind S4, TMC, JR’s, and Sue Ellen’s for guests ages 12+. Don’t let that frighten you. Plans are in the works for 2022 to bring back the full-blown street party that you all have come to know and love,” the event’s website shared.

Set to take place on Oct. 23, the spooky celebration will now be held behind businesses on the southeast corner of Throckmorton Street and Cedar Springs Road. The area is a large parking lot that will allow more room and social distancing for those in attendance. The location change was a recommendation by the city to keep residents safe when COVID cases are on the rise in the state of Texas.

Typically, the party is held each year in the street on 3900 block of Cedar Springs Road. The location is the only change this year. The event remains open to the public and kids age 12 and up.

The street party organizers hope those who plan to attend will don their best, scariest, and most creative Halloween costumes to celebrate the spooky holiday. The party will include live DJs, food and drink, alcoholic beverages for attendees 21 years or older, recognition for some of the best costumes, drag performances, candy, and giveaways.

This year’s event will be unique, considering the 2020 celebration was canceled due to the pandemic. Instead, Caven Enterprises, the event’s organizers behind all the fun, arranged for a virtual event.
