As the winter weather has most of us indoors or bundled up, it is nice to know that warm relief is on the way. Dallas Arboretum and Galleria Dallas have already started planning for spring with beautiful exhibits and events for the entire family.

Dallas Arboretum announced its annual Dallas Blooms exhibit with “Birds In Paradise” as this year’s theme. The opening weekend will honor Caroline Rose Hunt, an American heiress, and founder of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.

The spring festival will host over 500,000 spring-blooming blossoms, including one hundred varieties of spring bulbs, thousands of azaleas, and hundreds of Japanese cherry trees. The star of this year’s event is four giant peacock topiaries. Continuing with the theme of “Birds of Paradise,” there will be special bird talks, bird flight shows, and wine demonstrations. There will be activities and Easter events for children, including an Easter egg hunt.

Galleria Dallas will join the Dallas Arboretum ushering in spring with gardening demonstrations. The weekly events will take place on Saturdays starting March 5 from 10 a.m. until noon, through the end of the month. In addition to learning about various plants, the Dallas Arboretum has teamed up with the shopping and lifestyle center for an exhibit on the gallery wall across from the Apple store. The unique feature includes an extra-large photo of the Arboretum’s tulips in bloom, making it the perfect background for selfies.

Other Dallas Blooms events include bird décor, family fun weekends, special animal meetings, weekend musical events, tasting and cooking classes, wine and beer pairings, Mommy and Me Mondays, Tiny Tot Tuesdays, and Wine Down Wednesdays.

Named by Southern Living as “The Best Places to See Stunning Spring Blooms Across the South.” Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum will run from February 19 through April 10. Ticket prices range from twelve to twenty dollars per person.
