A popular Dallas hamburger restaurant has plans to open a second location.
Renowned for its burgers and self-described “low-class cool” menu, Maple & Motor is expected to add another outpost along Preston Road in Dallas.
The site of the new restaurant, a pad site at 14885 Preston Road near Belt Line Road, is expected to begin undergoing renovations starting on November 1, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The work is slated to be completed by January 31, 2024, the filing stated.
The property currently houses a former Veritas Community Bank brick-and-mortar location. The current building has a drive-thru window, though it is unclear whether this would be utilized by Maple & Motor.
According to the filing, altering the 3,200-square-foot building has a projected construction cost of $300,000.
Crestview Real Estate is listed as the owner of the property on the filing. The Dallas-based commercial real estate firm also owns the site of Maple & Motor’s original location at 4810 Maple Ave. near Dallas’ Medical District.
The new Maple & Motor location will join a Chick-fil-A and Tom Thumb in the Preston Beltline Shopping Center.
Maple & Motor has been featured on the Food Network’s well-known Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives program, and it has received nods from national media and publications.
The Dallas Morning News included Maple & Motor on its “15 Essential Burger Joints in Dallas-Fort Worth” list back in 2019.
“This place doesn’t need a website,” the report read. “Its allure is that it serves a simple, small menu in a no-nonsense setting that most people probably heard about by word of mouth. Pretty much everything here is good.”
Calling itself a “no-frills” burger restaurant, Maple & Motor prides itself on simplicity. Beyond burgers, its menu includes a fried baloney sandwich, a yardbird sandwich, and loaded tater tots.
Maple & Motor’s Maple Ave. location is open Monday through Saturday, from 10:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
