The American Rodeo is once again coming to Arlington, Texas, but this time to a new venue and with added entertainment over the course of four days.

Teton Ridge, the company and brand presenting the event, announced yesterday that the rodeo will take place at Globe Life Field on March 8-11, 2023. The event is described as “an annual Western sports and entertainment celebration.”

“I think what’s really cool about an event like this – it’s sort of a merge of Western sports and mainstream. When you come into a venue like this, you can’t [help] but be inspired,” Teton Ridge president Joe Loverro told NBCDFW.

Formerly held at AT&T Stadium as a two-day event, the new venue will allow fans to have field access so they can get closer to the action, Loverro explained. “That field access that we’re going to provide gives them a chance to get closer to the action than, really, anywhere.”

The rodeo will be extended to four days, giving it a “festival feel,” according to Loverro.

The American Rodeo 2023 is an open competition that allows “everyday hardworking cowboys and cowgirls from across the country” to contend against top professional rodeo champions for a chance at $1 million in bonus money.

“The American Contender Tournament Finals,” previously known as the “Qualifier Finals,” will kick off the excitement. Events are being held coast to coast from July 2022 through February 2023 to narrow the field of participants who will ultimately compete in the American Rodeo in Arlington.

Competitions will be held in eight rodeo disciplines: Barrel Racing, Breakaway Roping, Team Roping, Tie-Down Roping, Steer Wrestling, Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, and Bull Riding.

The American Rodeo promises to give fans a tournament format that is easy to follow, live music events, and an in-person experience like no other.
