In the mood for some Texas BBQ, a rodeo, or perhaps a celebration of Asian pop culture? Well, The Dallas Express has got it covered, as there are several events taking place this weekend across the Metroplex.
For starters, the Miller Lite House at AT&T Stadium in Arlington will host the Miller Lite House Q BBQ Fest on November 5 and 6. Due to expected inclement weather, the Friday evening kickoff to the event scheduled for November 4 has been canceled, and any tickets previously purchased for Friday will be honored at the gate on Saturday or Sunday.
BBQ Fest has something for everyone looking to get out and enjoy good food and a friendly atmosphere.
The event will have live music featuring musical guests such as The Buffalo Ruckus, Tom Sless, and Mitchel Ferguson. Pitmasters will hold BBQ demos showcasing the recipes they use, and the Wild Fork Rib Rumble will offer patrons a chance to compete against fellow BBQ connoisseurs to see who can cram the most rib meat into their “face hole” in a 5-minute heat.
The winner of the Rib Rumble will receive a custom # 22 RIB CHAMP Cowboys Jersey, two Pit Passes to the 2023 Dallas Q BBQ Fest, and a chance to compete at the 2023 Dallas Q BBQ Fest Rib Rumble.
Tickets for BBQ Fest can be found here.
The North Texas Fair and Rodeo, located in Denton, Texas, will host its annual BBQ Cook-off on November 4 and 5.
“We do all we can to raise money to support our cause all year long, and this is an event that we host to carry on with the Texas tradition of cooking BBQ and comradery and using our space and getting outside and getting some outdoor time,” Jim Paddack, a member of the North Texas Fair and Rodeo Board of Directors, told The Dallas Express.
The cook-off winner earns entry fees to the 2023 Rodeo Austin BBQ Cookoff happening March 3-4, 2023. For more information about the North Texas Fair and Rodeo BBQ Cook-off, click here.
This weekend’s lineup also includes the Nishi Fest, which will be held in Arlington on Saturday, November 5, at Esports Stadium. Nishi Fest is an Asian anime and pop culture festival that will feature a variety of entertainment, panel room discussions, a KPop dance workshop, a KPop dance performance, a Meet & Greet session, and of course, plenty of food vendors.
