Forbes has released its 2023 Travel Guide, and the Lone Star State is home to 26 of the top-rated establishments.
The Forbes Travel Guide is a yearly list that recognizes top-rated hotels, restaurants, spas, and cruises across the world. There were 1,956 properties listed this year, including five restaurants, seven spas, and 12 hotels in Texas. Forbes has been creating this Travel Guide for 65 years.
You may wonder how a business could end up on such a prominent list. Forbes sends about 1,000 incognito inspectors posing as customers to visit these businesses and experience authentic service. The establishment is then rated based on the standards Forbes has set. Inspectors use up to 900 objective standards to determine these ratings, according to the guide’s website.
Ratings are broken up into categories. The highest rating a business can receive is 5 stars. This means the service was virtually flawless and highly recommended. The next best rating is 4 stars, meaning the business was exceptional and able to provide high levels of service. The lowest rating on the guide is Recommended. This just means the business was consistently good.
