Parkland Health is consolidating its Youth & Family Centers from 11 centers to four that will be open five days per week in an effort to improve access to care for students in the Dallas Independent School District, according to the hospital’s news release.

The Youth & Family Centers in the Parkland system are currently open on average one to three days each week.

“Consolidating these centers will allow us to expand access to children and adolescents five days a week and provide a medical home,” stated Christina Mintner, Parkland’s senior vice president of population health. “Regular care is essential to a child’s physical and emotional health, growth, and development as well as their capacity to reach their full potential as adults.”
