H-E-B, the San Antonio-based grocery chain, will soon expand and build throughout North Texas. The company currently has around 340 stores and employs 100,000 people.

A store opening up in Frisco this fall will be located at the intersection of Legacy Drive and Main Street in Frisco, taking up 111,000 square feet, or 2.5 acres. H-E-B is looking to hire 700 new employees for the store.

To help fill these positions, H-E-B will host a job fair on Saturday, July 9, at an H-E-B staffing office located at 11955 Dallas Parkway. The job fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be open positions for all employment levels at the new store location, both full- and part-time.

Pay varies but starts at $15 per hour for most positions. Employees will also receive a special 10% discount whenever they choose to shop at any H-E-B store location, as well as health insurance, paid time off, and a stock and 401(k) plan.

Those who wish to apply should visit the Careers section of the company’s website. Complete the online application before applying in person or arriving at the fair.

Construction on the Frisco location started last Thursday. Among other special amenities, the store will have a full-service pharmacy and a True Texas BBQ restaurant, both of which will have a drive-thru.

In a news release in early June celebrating the groundbreaking ceremony for the new location, Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney called H-E-B “an iconic Texas brand.”

“They say no store does more than H-E-B, and we can’t wait for them to bring their renowned quality products and services to support growing families in Frisco,” he said.

In addition to the Frisco store, construction is underway for stores in Plano and McKinney.

These openings are part of a recent expansion campaign by H-E-B, which has thus far kept itself to South and Central Texas and some of the more densely populated areas in North Texas.

As reported by The Dallas Express, rumors surfaced in mid-June that a Fort Worth location could be imminent, but the company has not officially announced plans for a store there.
