The Richardson City Council is set to hold hearings on the proposed 2021-22 budget during two upcoming meetings. The hearing is also meant to address the tax rate. However, the budget doesn’t propose a change to the current property tax rate of $0.62516 per $100 of taxable value.
The hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled to hold during a council meeting on August 23rd at 6 p.m. The tax rating hearing will be held during the August 16th meeting.
The 2021-22 budget is to effect a total property tax revenue increase of $10,478,606. This is a 9.17% increase over the budget for last year.
The proposed 2021-22 budget includes tax returns of $1,705,100, which is expected to be raised from new property added to this year’s tax roll.
Residents are invited to attend the two meetings in person to air their opinion or submit their comments online. The hearings are going to be made available for live viewing on Richardson’s city’s website.
