O'Rourke Escorted Out of Conference After Confronting Abbott

A day after the tragic elementary school shooting in Uvalde, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke confronted Texas Governor Greg Abbott during a press conference. Gov. Abbott, alongside Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin, gave comments and updates to a group inside the meeting room. O’Rourke delivered his opinion after Abbott finished his briefing, walking up to the stage and chastising Abbott for his accused lack of gun control.

The shooting, which occurred on Tuesday at Robb Elementary, left at least 21 dead and others injured. Shooter Salvador Ramos, 18, was inside the school for reportedly over an hour before law enforcement fatally shot him. Ramos had an online presence, which according to witnesses, was full of threats and boasting of his rifle purchase.

However, Beto O’Rourke was more concerned with the topic of gun control and was not afraid to speak his mind. After coming up from the third row in the conference, he began by saying, “You are doing nothing… you are offering up nothing.” He continued, saying. “You said this was not predictable. This was totally predictable when you choose not to do anything.”

Abbott and his partners onstage were quick to tell O’Rourke off.

“Sit down and don’t play this stunt.” Sen. Cruz said.

“I can’t believe that you’re a sick, son of a b**** that would come to a deal like this to make a political issue,” added Mayor McLaughlin. O’Rourke has used his platform previously to advocate for increased gun control in Texas.

O’Rourke was escorted out, to which he said, “This will continue to happen. Somebody needs to stand up for the children of this state, or they will continue to be killed just like they were killed in Uvalde yesterday.” According to the Texas Tribune, some onlookers supported O’Rourke’s comments and wanted him to speak.

“There’s no words that anybody shouting can come up here and do anything to heal these broken hearts,” Gov. Abbott concluded.

Beto never misses an opportunity to campaign……this time on the corpses of murdered children.

You don’t think Abbott was campaigning my dear friend?

No, governor Abbott was not campaigning. As governor of our state, it is his elected duty to hold a press conference. No one has duly elected ORourke as so much as dog catcher. God help Texas if he ever is elected to anything. He’ll turn Texas into another California.

The blame can’t be attributed to the gun this kid used by rather to his parents and teachers and community who did not address his troubled mind. To blame the guns is nothing more than passing the blame to an inanimate object, when the blame lies with society and community.

Abbott was sincerely mourning with these families, not being a hot-head like Beto. You are mistaken if you think gun control is going to stop violent acts against the innocent. There is a reason why mentally disturbed people target soft spots like gun-free zones….I would like to see our DA enforce sentences against criminal activity instead of giving people hall passes for illegal activity. Criminals have no fear because rules are not enforced, such as getting early parole or a no penalty for theft under $750. There is a reason why Singapore has low crime rates. It’s because Singapore does what they say they are going to do. Let us also not forgot that a licensed, law-abiding citizen shot the church shooter in White Settlement two years ago.

I cannot believe this idiot was even allowed into the room with our Governor and Senator! He is a disgusting POS and those who support BO (notice he shares this same moniker with Obama) are fools. Look at what is going on in our nation! Law enforcement may have made a deadly mistake, and the officers in charge will have to answer for their action or lack of action, but in a court room. Stinky old BO has no place anywhere near a gathering where he can usurp the position of those in charge.

It’s high time somebody spoke truth to power in this state. These high power weapons belong on the battlefield NOT ON THE STREETS! I’m OK with the second amendment, but with rights come responsibilities. Gun rights advocates believe they can have bazookas or neighborhood nuclear devices if they want them. This arms race must stop.

The problem is that if you open the door to gun control it will never stop there. It will never be enough until none of the law abiding citizens have guns, only the outlaws will.

This ignorant type of thinking is exactly why we can’t get reasonable gun control. Too many folks have been brain-washed by the NRA with this simple, unfounded idea.

We have a lot of gun laws, but they have not been enforced for many years and I think they need to be revived and we need to get rid of the officials that refuse to enforce them and let criminals out of jail with no bond or charges. Any new laws we need should be against these officials that don’t want to put criminals in jail, as they want these criminals to vote Democrat.

O’Rourke just can’t keep his mouth shut. He is the perfect example o of old saying “It is better to be thought a fool, than open your mount and remove all doubt.

As I have stated previously, controlling the guns themselves will eventually lead to no one but criminals having guns. If we are going to address this issue effectively, we must control the people who buy the guns. In this case, for instance, the man (anyone) who sold Ramos the guns should be required to do a background check on Ramos that includes social media. He would have found Ramos to be unstable. In selling Ramos the guns knowing that, should result in him (the seller) loosing everything; his license to sell, his store and inventory, his home, and all other assets, via a class action civil law suit from the families who suffered loss as a result of his greed and indifference.

I saw Abbott shes tears and mourn with these families. I only saw hot-head Beto making a political stunt. Let us not forget that a licensed citizen shot down an active church shooter in 2019.  Outlawing guns will not end mentally-deranged people from targeting the innocent in soft spots, such as gun-free zones.  Criminals will find a way to get a gun illegally, while licensed, good citizens get stripped of their 2nd amendment rights.  Criminals are no longer afraid to commit crimes.  Instead, why not focus on enforcing punishment instead of giving criminals a free hall pass when they commit crimes?   (Like Cruesot and other DAs like to do). We should not have early parole, either.  There is a reason why Singapore’s crime is so low-They do what they say they are going to do.  I think schools should have a trained, armed officer on every campus and maybe detectors at every entrance.  Sadly, this may not be the answer, but outlawing certain guns isn’t the answer, either.

I’m with Beto on this. He’s not my favorite politician, but we need sensible gun regulations in this country.
