District 7 was ranked fourth among Dallas districts for criminal offenses in Q1, with only three districts experiencing worse overall crime, based on a Dallas Express analysis of Dallas Police Department statistics.

District 7 was ranked fourth in the previous quarter.

District 12 was considered the safest Dallas district, while District 2 was found to be the most dangerous district.

Dallas has one of the highest crime rates in the United States, with a high incidence rate for violent crimes, including armed robbery, aggravated assault and murder, according to neighborhoodscout.com.

The Dallas murder rate hit a 15 year high in 2020 with more than 225 deaths.

In November 2020, police major David Davis said the southern Dallas districts have the highest violent crime counts, which often target specific individuals.

The Dallas Police Department does not release data about sexually oriented offenses, offenses involving persons under 17, Social Service Referral offenses, and others that they claim should not be made public in order to protect the persons’ privacy or to meet other legal standards.
