With four U.S. Attorney vacancies in Texas, qualified and interested attorneys are urged to apply.
U.S. Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Ted Cruz (R-TX), the Senate Judiciary Committee members, have created a bipartisan panel of leading Texas attorneys to select the most qualified candidates for U.S. Attorney.
The panel, known as the Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee (FJEC), reviews applications, interviews candidates, and makes recommendations to the senators.
“As a former judge and Attorney General of Texas, I acutely understand the importance of ensuring that we have the best people enforcing federal law in Texas,” said Sen. Cornyn. “I encourage any qualified individuals interested in serving Texas in these roles to take the first step by submitting their information to the review committee.”
“Sen. Cornyn and I established the FJEC in order to ensure the most qualified judges and prosecutors serve Texas and our country,” said Sen. Cruz. “I am proud to encourage candidates with a deep respect for the rule of law to pursue these positions and apply to our committee for review.”
Application packets including a resume and completed questionnaire must be emailed to both senators at [email protected] (Attn: Ryan Raybould) and [email protected] (Attn: Andrew Davis) no later than Sept. 30.
The Federal Judicial Evaluation Committee will review questionnaires, and selected candidates will be interviewed.
