Fletcher’s Corny Dogs will be available daily at its permanent spot in Klyde Warren Park beginning in October.

The irresistible corny dog, previously only available at the Texas State Fair, random food truck pop-ups, and online retailer Goldbelly will now be open seven days a week in Downtown Dallas between Pearl and Olive Streets.

“You go to a park in NYC, and you can have a hot dog,” Kit Sawers, president of Klyde Warren Park, told The Dallas Morning News.  “Fletcher’s Corny Dogs is the equivalent of the New York hot dog.”

The rare indulgence of a Fletcher’s Corny Dog has been the magic for the iconic brand for 80 years. During the pandemic, the company decided to cheer people up with a food truck that delivered corny dogs.

The State Fair of Texas was canceled in 2020, and Fletcher’s had to pivot to make a profit.

The family-run company had been looking for a permanent location recently, according to CEO and co-owner Aaron Fletcher.

In 1942, Neil and Carl Fletcher started the business, selling corn dogs for 15 cents apiece. Newer versions of the corn dog were launched in the 2000s, such as the jalapeño-cheese corny dog, a turkey dog, and a veggie dog.

The new location will sell six versions of the Fletcher Corn Dog, curly fries, and lemonade on the permanent food truck. Prices will range from $5 to $8.

“We fully expect our East Lawn to become much more active than it has been in the past ten years,” says Sawers.

Fletcher’s corny dogs are good but not worth the price.
