A second convenience store shootout last week left three people injured in Fort Worth, according to WFAA.
Police arrived at the Pink Store located at 1701 South Riverside Drive on April 14 to find three people shot inside. The victims were a clerk shot in the chest, a man, and a teenager.
According to the police department, all three victims are believed to be in stable condition.
Authorities are still investigating what led to the shooting. Officers from Fort Worth’s Gang Unit were also present at the store.
It is unclear whether the incident was a robbery, a department spokesperson told WFAA.
Violent crime has been a growing concern for the City of Fort Worth. Last year, there were 118 homicides in the city, the most since 1994.
As previously reported in The Dallas Express, Chief Neil Noakes of the Fort Worth Police Department has promised to cut violent crime by 10% in a year by implementing a data-driven strategy.
The plan focuses on hotspots in the city with the highest violent crime rates.
The Pink Store incident is the second shooting at a Fort Worth convenience store in less than 24 hours.
According to police, a drive-by shooting on April 13 left two people injured at a Food Mart in the 1000 block of Bessie Street in Fort Worth. The store is approximately one mile for the Pink Store.
Both victims are expected to survive.
