Texas is enormous; however, there are a few cozy locations that will give you and that special someone the intimate getaway you deserve.

If you are looking for a short drive and lots of privacy, go for the Skybox Cabins in Glen Rose, Texas. About eighty-five miles southwest of Dallas, Glen Rose is home to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park, Dinosaur Valley State Park, and Paluxy River. Five cabins implore beautiful views of cedars, sunrises, and sunsets.

Looking for a staycation? The Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek offers a romance package that includes a room with a bouquet of roses, rose petals on the bed, and a breakfast credit starting at $900. Rosewood supervisor John Gray says rooms are still available but are filling up fast.

Take an hour and a half drive west to Azle, where you will find The Orchard Cabins‘ fifteen private cabins on one hundred acres of property. The cabins encircle two fire pits and a game area for horseshoes and cornhole. Valentine evening cabins are still available, starting at $120 per night.

One of Texas’ most romantic areas is in the Hill Country. Enjoy Lake Travis and the wide-open skies that surround Lakeway Resort and Spa. Choose from the “Roses and Romance” or the “Love on the Lake” package, which can include a bottle of champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and breakfast in bed or dining credit.

Another romantic hop, skip, and a jump from Austin is Cypress Valley, where a collection of treehouses take you high above the ground among the cypress trees. These treehouses are the ones you dreamt of as a child, with plenty of stargazing, bird watching, and privacy.

If you want to take a real road trip, head to Terlingua and stay in a giant bubble at Basecamp. Choose from bubble rooms featuring one or two queen-sized beds, a living room, full bathroom, heating and air conditioning, hot tub, barbecue grill, firepit, and more. Luxury tipis and Lotus tents are also available that include everything you need for a night under the stars starting at $119 a night.
