According to Sgt. Ryan Howard, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety, a body discovered on January 13 upon a county road south of Mexia, has been positively identified as missing 55-year-old Waco resident Willie Rhodes.

On January 11, Rhodes was reported missing after he was last seen heading to work from a Cefco Gas Station in the 1620 block of South 18th Street on January 9 around 6:20 a.m., per a Waco Police Department Facebook page.

Sgt. Howard stated that it is currently too early in the investigation to know if any foul play occurred. The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers will conduct a cooperative inquiry. More details are developing.
