Galleria Dallas will gain three new stores this month, all locally owned.
One of Dallas’s longest continuously-operating independent fashion boutiques is among the additions, returning to the mall after 12 years.
Gregory’s, a luxury apparel, shoe, and accessory boutique, operated at the Galleria for 20 years before moving to NorthPark Center in 2010. The NorthPark Center location closed on March 28, and now the boutique is moving back home to the Galleria.
The luxury clothing boutique first opened in 1989 in the now-defunct Valley View Mall. It moved to the Galleria in 1991.
“We’re heading back to where we started,” co-founder Leslie Matney told The Dallas Morning News.
Matney, who still operates the store with her husband, Larry Matney, says the move is part of Galleria’s attempted comeback, and she and her husband want to help in any way they can.
Gregory’s prides itself on selling unique designer brands exclusive to the market. It will open a temporary location by the middle of the month, across from the Apple store on the shopping center’s first level. The plan is to eventually renovate and move into the store’s original location next to Gucci.
Another forthcoming addition is Lizzie Lu Luxury Treats, opening by the end of April across from Morphe on the mall’s first level. Lizzie Lu Luxury Treats is a bakery owned by local entrepreneur T’Juanna Winters. The shop sells candy apples, butter cakes, and Shookies, a kind of cookie that resembles a cobbler. Winters has a store in Las Colinas Plaza that has been in business since 2019.
Apricot Lane, which closed its former location a few months ago and is now under new ownership, set its opening for April 7. Brieanna LaCaze, the McKinney Apricot Lane location owner, will manage the Galleria store on the mall’s second level, next to Macy’s.
Alongside the Dallas-based stores making a home at the Galleria, Fort Lauderdale-based retailer The Inspiration Co. recently opened a new location on the mall’s second level, across from H&M. The Inspiration Co., founded in 2017, specializes in inspirational jewelry for men, women, and children. The company also has stores at The Parks Mall in Arlington and Stonebriar Centre in Frisco.
The new stores are part of the Galleria’s revamping, which started in 2018. Other plans for the mall include an urban street front along the Dallas North Tollway, a residential tower, and a multi-screen cinema.
