University of Dallas issued the following announcement on June 2

Regina Uhl, J.D., BA ’00, joins the University of Dallas Board of Trustees as its newest member. A philosophy alumna of the university, Uhl is a nationally recognized real estate attorney. She is licensed in Texas, Illinois and Kentucky and is certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of residential real estate law; her practice areas also include regulatory compliance. Uhl serves as a key member of Sandler Law Group’s leadership team and provides services to the firm’s clients across Texas and nationwide.

“Regina has long been involved with UD as an alumna, a member of our National Alumni Board, and a supporter of UD’s mission,” said Board of Trustees Chair Richard Husseini, J.D., BS ’88. “We are honored to have her serve on UD’s Board of Trustees.”

President Jonathan J. Sanford said, “We have a tremendously dedicated and talented board, now made even stronger with the addition of Regina’s distinctive perspective as an alumna, her love of and commitment to the university, and her considerable talents.”

In 2009, Uhl and her family created the Charles T. Uhl Memorial Scholarship in honor of her father, who worked in UD’s IT Department after retiring from IBM. He sent four of his five children to UD, fulfilling his love for travel vicariously through their Rome semesters. The scholarship was endowed in 2017 and provides support for students who need financial assistance to participate in the Rome Program.

“I am excited by the opportunity to utilize the talents that were initially cultivated at the University of Dallas to help steward the university through this period of growth and renewal,” said Uhl. “I am very optimistic about the direction of the university under the guidance of President Jonathan J. Sanford, and look forward to working with the administration and the rest of the Board of Trustees. I anticipate the ‘best kept secret of Dallas’ continuing to gain the national and international recognition that those of us who love and support UD know to be well deserved.”
