(Texas Scorecard) – In its application for prospective students, the Texas A&M School of Law is soliciting “racial,” “ethnic,” and “gender identity” grievances.

A source provided Texas Scorecard with a screenshot from the Texas A&M School of Law’s application page. On the “attachments” tab, applicants have the option to write a two-page paper about how he or she will contribute to the legal community as a whole and the law school’s student body.

One of the topics the applicant can address is how he or she has been “shaped” by multiple factors, including “racial and ethnic identity,” “sexual orientation,” and “gender identity.”

While optional, the question’s inclusion on the application suggests it will be used to determine an applicant’s merit.

Texas A&M School of Law nor its parent organization, the Texas A&M University System, replied to a request for comment before publication.

The law school is a recent addition to the Aggie system. In August 2013, Texas A&M purchased the Fort Worth-based Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and renamed it the Texas A&M School of Law. In 2024, the school was ranked 26th among American law schools by U.S. News & World Report.

A new Fort Worth campus is under construction, set to open in 2026.

This application is another example of woke ideology found within the Texas A&M system. Other recent examples include courses centered on gender ideology and a geography course that taught that gender is a “social construct.”
