A Plano Independent School District teacher has been fired by the district after an investigation revealed an alleged improper relationship with a female student, the district said.

Michael Lloyd taught at McMillen High School from 2011 to 2023, according to the district, and before that taught at Williams High School.

Recently, a former student who attended both Williams and Plano East High School informed the district of an alleged incident involving her and Lloyd that took place over 15 years ago.

The incident is alleged to have occurred between 2005 and 2009.

Plano ISD confirmed to The Dallas Express in an email that a student had made these allegations and that Lloyd worked at Williams High School during the same time the former student attended.

The district sent out a letter to notify parents about the incident.

“We are reaching out to share some difficult information with you. Plano ISD was recently notified by a former student of alleged criminal behavior by a former Plano ISD teacher, Mr. Michael Lloyd.

“The incident allegedly occurred between 2005 and 2009, when the former student attended Williams High School and Plano East High School. Mr. Lloyd was employed at Williams High School during the time period that this alleged conduct took place.

“Most recently he was employed at McMillen High School from 2011 to 2023,” said Deputy Superintendent for Leadership and Operations Dr. Selenda Anderson.

The district also confirmed that Lloyd was placed on administrative leave after investigators confronted him.

“Plano ISD does not condone nor will tolerate [sic] any employee who engages in the type of inappropriate, unethical and harmful behavior alleged in this instance,” Anderson said in a statement.

“The district took immediate action and opened an ongoing investigation, in addition to making appropriate reports to law enforcement authorities and the State Board for Educator Certification.

“Immediately after receiving notification from the former student, Mr. Lloyd was placed on administrative leave and is no longer employed by Plano ISD.”

The Dallas Express contacted the Plano Police Department for additional information and to confirm if it is investigating but did not hear back by the time of publication.
