A $50 million renovation project at TCU’s Athletics Human Performance Center is scheduled to be delivered by the end of August.

The project includes a restoration wellness center, a football performance center, and studios, according to a state filing. Spanning 10,000 square feet, the restoration wellness facility comes with hydro massage, red-light therapy, and a cryo lounge.

The renovations carry an estimated construction cost of $38.5 million, the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filing shows. The total cost is expected to reach $50 million.

“For our current student-athletes and future Horned Frogs, we are very proud to have construction officially underway on our Human Performance Center Renovation and Expansion Projects as well as the Athletics Restoration and Wellness Center,” TCU athletic director Jeremiah Donati said in a news release. “These donor-funded facilities, which will be the most comprehensive project we have undertaken at TCU, positions us as a national leader in support of student-athletes through innovation and the latest technology when it comes to training, preparation, restoration, wellness, and nutrition.”

The improved Bob Lilly Performance Center will support more than 500 student-athletes in 22 sports, according to the release.

“The Athletics HPC is a comprehensive capital project that will add over 30,000 square feet in new facilities while renovating and enhancing roughly 20,000 square feet of the current Bob Lilly Performance Center.”

TCU has committed almost $500 million in donor funds to athletic facility upgrades since joining the Big 12 in 2012, the release shows.
