Social media users criticized Dallas ISD for its promotion of gender-transitioning guidance following an exclusive report by The Dallas Express.

Dallas ISD published an “LGBTQ+ Resources” document that explains how to transition genders, advises campuses to allow bathroom use in accordance with gender identification, and promotes books featuring children who identify as transgender to elementary school students, as reported by The Dallas Express. Users of X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, lambasted the district in response to the story.

“An official trans guide for @dallasschools, one of the largest school districts in the US, helps direct children to transition — including through promoting the use of dangerous chest binding devices that could have serious health consequences,” posted Andy Ngô, a senior editor for The Post Millenial and fact checker for X’s community notes.

Robyn Harris, the executive director of Dallas ISD’s communications team, previously told The Dallas Express the document, which was obtained in an open records request, “is only available by request from an adult.” She specified this applied to parents and school employees.

“It’s only shared with them,” Harris said.

However, further investigation revealed the document has been openly shared by Dallas ISD.

“Looks like Dallas ISD tried to lie to @DallasExpress about their promotion of gender ideology to kids,” Mary Margaret Olohan, a journalist for The Daily Signal, posted on X.

Dallas ISD did not respond to further questions about its promotion of the document.

“One of the largest school districts in Texas is advising students how to transition genders,” the 1776 Project PAC posted. “Dallas ISD publishes a resource guide that recommends specific trans clinics, directs schools to let boys use the girl’s bathroom and compete in girls sports. They claimed to the @DallasExpress that it’s only available at the request of adults but has been touted by the school district on social media.”

Other X users said Dallas ISD’s views on gender are extreme.

“That’s weird since it’s illegal to do so now in TX,” one account claimed. “Really hope that AG Paxton sees this.”

“Encouraging children to deform their bodies is the opposite of encouraging PRIDE in who you are,” reads another post.

“For professional educators you are insanely stupid,” another one posted. “Supporting the trans agenda is child abuse and you should be prosecuted. I know most parents disagree with you.”

“When are people going to finally get fed up at these cultists sexually indoctrinating their kids?” another user asked.

In a previous statement to The Dallas Express, Harris said that the school system works to “ensure all students have a safe school experience.”

“Based on board policy, Dallas ISD is a safe and welcoming district that provides a non-discriminatory environment for all students,” she said.
