(Texas Scorecard) – A teacher in Round Rock Independent School District was arrested for sex crimes involving children.
Domingo Perez Jr., also known as Dominic, was a science teacher at Stony Point High School through the 2023-2024 school year.
Perez was arrested and booked into the Williamson County Jail on August 21.
He is facing charges of indecency with a child by sexual contact—a second-degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison—and possession of 50 or more images or videos of child pornography, a first-degree felony punishable by up to life in prison.
According to Round Rock ISD spokesperson Anne Drabicky, Perez is no longer a teacher at Stony Point. She told Texas Scorecard, the district learned of the investigation into the teacher in July and immediately placed him on leave.
“We have been working with law enforcement and all appropriate agencies. The employee has not been on campus since the end of last school year,” added Drabicky.
Some district parents have indicated the indecency with a child by sexual contact charge stems from an incident with a student. According to the booking information, the alleged crime occurred in April 2023.
Texas Scorecard asked Drabicky if Perez’s charges involved any actions taken on Round Rock ISD property or involving Round Rock ISD students. She did not respond.
Perez posted bonds totaling $125,000 on August 22, although jail records show he has not yet been released.
His Texas Educator Certificate shows he has been a state-licensed science teacher since 2004. His certificate also indicates that he’s currently under investigation by the Texas Education Agency.
Dozens of Texas educators have been charged with sex crimes involving students and other children.
