A pickup truck slammed into a Kemp ISD school bus on May 16.

As reported by CBS, Highway Patrol Troopers were called to a crash at F.M. 3396 and county road 4045A, located outside of Kemp.

Detectives said that the bus and the truck were both traveling eastbound on F.M. 3396. The bus stopped so that two children could get off the bus and was struck in the back by a Chevy Silverado pickup truck.

The driver of the Chevy Silverado was injured and taken to Baylor Hospital for treatment. Officials say her injuries are non-life-threatening.

The driver of the school bus and the children remaining on the bus were not injured.
