A McKinney ISD athletic trainer faces felony charges after police arrested her Wednesday for alleged sexual misconduct with a high school student.
Lindsey Post, 35, was charged with sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between educator and student.
Both charges are second-degree felonies that could result in significant prison time if Post is convicted.
McKinney ISD officials learned of allegations involving “inappropriate text messages and/or conduct” between Post and a student at McKinney North High School on Tuesday. The district immediately reported the matter to state education boards and local law enforcement.
Post worked as an athletic trainer at McKinney North High School, but also supported Cockrill Middle School and Scott Johnson Middle School. The district placed her on administrative leave pending the investigation.
Texas licensing records show Post’s athletic trainer license expired on November 14, 2025. She is the only person named “Lindsey Post” registered as an athletic trainer in the state.
McKinney police confirmed the charges on Wednesday but released few additional details about the investigation. The district has not specified the student’s age or gender.
School officials urged anyone with information to contact McKinney Police, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services at 1-800-252-5400, or the district’s Title IX Coordinator, Alana Chisum, at [email protected].
