A teacher at Lakehill Prep in Dallas died in a tragic accident on October 26.

According to Dallas police, 43-year-old Mark Guerra was driving in the left lane on Ferguson Road that Tuesday afternoon when a driver in the middle lane veered into his lane, hitting the right side of his car. The force of the collision caused him to lose control and crash into a light pole.

Police identified a 77-year-old woman as the other driver involved in the accident. Nothing has been said about the woman’s reasons for drifting out of her lane.

Mark Guerra was a teacher at Lakehill Prep for the past seven years. According to FOX 4, he was loved by the school’s students and staff because he made a lasting impact on many. He was also called “Mr. G” in the school, the report says.

The entire community of Lakehill Prep is in mourning for their beloved teacher. According to FOX 4, Guerra was working on organizing a musical titled “Good News.” The musical was special to him, they said.

Students plan to carry on Guerra’s plans and hold the musical. That way, they will fulfill one of his lifelong goals, which is to direct the first musical he ever starred in.

“It was the first musical he was ever in, and we have to do it for that reason for Mr. G,” one of his students, Sabina Chamoy, said to FOX 4. “We have to do the musical, and we’re going to make it the best musical we’ve ever done,” she continued. “We’re going to make him proud.”

The school is scheduled to perform the musical on the weekend of November 12.
