A high school in Southlake was closed Wednesday due to a bomb threat.
The Southlake Department of Public Safety reported receiving an anonymous report of a bomb threat via a Stop It Alert at Carroll High School located at 800 North White Chapel Boulevard on January 17.
Officials subsequently evacuated the school and closed the road while local firefighters and police officers investigated the situation.
Carroll ISD issued a social media post notifying the district that the students were relocated to Durham Intermediate School during the incident. Parents were then advised that CHS students were being dismissed from the relocation site while the investigation continued. Any students needing to take the bus would be transported from the DIS campus.
Carroll High School was later reopened after it was determined that there was no bomb and no threat to student and faculty safety.
The Dallas Express reached out to the Southlake Police Department but had not received comment as of the publication deadline.
This incident is the most recent of several bomb threats made across the nation this year. Multiple state capitols were evacuated and locked down earlier this year due to a mass bomb threat, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. However, investigators found no evidence of explosives at the government buildings.
