First, the Dallas Independent School District told educators and staff to get vaccinated and get paid. Now vaccinated students can get compensated too.

A one-time $50 vaccination incentive is available to students ages 12 and older who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Students completing the two-shot Pfizer or Moderna vaccination or one-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccinate will receive a $50 gift card that can be used as cash.

The announcement of the student vaccination incentive comes as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Dallas County Health officials have raised the COVID-19 alert to level red. Additionally, hospitalizations are rising at the fastest rate since the pandemic began among all age groups, including children.

To receive the gift card, parents or guardians must provide proof of vaccination for eligible students and follow these steps:

  • Complete the vaccination incentive form, which requires the student’s ID number and date of birth.
  • Upload a photo of the vaccination document, such as the vaccine card, IMMTrac2 printout, or written confirmation from a medical provider.

After Dallas ISD receives the information, parents or guardians will receive an email confirmation, including instructions to retrieve the $50 gift card.

Additionally, the student’s vaccination status will assist in facilitating contact tracing and quarantine when required.

The deadline to submit information for the $50 incentive gift card is Nov. 15.
