Another employee of the Dallas Independent School District (DISD) has been arrested for allegedly having an improper relationship with a student, the second in less than a month.

The employee in question is Qasim Frazier, 38, a teacher at Bryan Adams High School Leadership Academy. He is currently being held at the Dallas County jail on a $45,000 bond.

While DISD would not confirm whether he is still a district employee, his name no longer appears in the school’s online staff directory.

One person who identified themselves as a parent with a kid attending Bryan Adams High School claimed in a comment on Facebook that DISD did not notify parents about Frazier’s arrest.

“Why in the actual [f–k] am I hearing about this here?!? My [f–king] kid GOES to that school!!! Why aren’t THEY notifying me?!?” he wrote.

In a separate Facebook thread, a woman posted a screenshot of an older Facebook page purportedly belonging to Frazier.

“Did DISD not look at this FB profile! Hellooo…,” she wrote, alluding to the “friends” panel of his page. The profile photos for all the displayed accounts were of young women in tight or revealing clothing, some in sexually suggestive poses.

The district’s reputation has been struggling in recent years. A poll conducted by The Dallas Express last September found almost 50% of respondents blaming its dismal student outcomes on mismanagement by DISD leaders.

Frazier’s charges stem from an investigation by the Dallas Police Department’s child exploitation unit after it received a tip back in February that the man was possibly engaged in an “improper relationship with a current DISD student,” according to DPD’s online blog.

Jail records indicate that he was booked Tuesday morning.

In Texas, it is a distinct crime to have any kind of sexual relationship with a student while employed as a grade school educator, regardless of the age of the student. It is a second-degree felony with a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

As previously reported in The Dallas Express, an athletics director for a DISD middle school was charged with the same crime not even a month ago.

The Dallas Express reached out to DISD for comment.

A spokesperson for the district stated, “Dallas ISD does not comment on personnel matters.”
