Approximately 11,500 Dallas Independent School District employees received the $500 COVID-19 vaccine incentive after submitting proof that they were fully vaccinated. That totals over $5.7 million of tax dollars paid out in vaccine incentives so far.
Dallas ISD announced in August that it would pay teachers and staff a $500 bonus if they submit proof of vaccination by Nov. 15. The August announcement stated, “with the safety and well-being of staff and students in mind, Dallas ISD is offering a one-time incentive of $500 to district employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.”
District employees who submitted proof of vaccination in August got the one-time bonus in their September paycheck. Another 3,000 Dallas ISD employees are set to receive their vaccine bonus in their October paycheck.
According to the district, employees have until Nov. 15 to submit their proof of vaccination if they want to receive the bonus.
