Bowie High School in Arlington was placed under lockdown Wednesday afternoon following a reported shooting, according to a social media post by the Arlington Police Department.
The shooting was reported at about 2:50 p.m., just before the usual 3 p.m. dismissal time. The resulting lockdown delayed school dismissal while police investigated the incident that occurred outside the school near a portable building.
According to APD, “one victim was transported to the hospital.”
A video posted on social media shows an officer attempting life-saving measures on a person who is lying on the ground between a portable building and a red brick building.

The identity of the individual receiving CPR is unknown.
At about 4 p.m., police posted on social media that parents could reunite with their children at the AISD Athletics and Aquatics Center at 1001 E. Division St. All children inside the school were reported to be safe, according to a message from Arlington ISD.
The high school went into lockdown shortly after Adam Elementary School, which is also part of the Arlington School District, came out of lockdown. It is unclear if the two lockdowns are related.
