Itasca ISD Superintendent Michael Stevens on Friday was charged with online solicitation of a minor.

The 47-year-old Stevens appeared in a Harris County, where his bond was set at $100,000.

The judge said if Stevens posts bond, he must submit to random drug testing and can’t have contact with anyone under 17. He also must install software on his computer that monitors his activity.

Stevens is accused of communicating online with an undercover officer, allegedly thinking she was a 15-year-old girl in Houston. He was arrested on Thursday at Itasca High School, about an hour southwest of Dallas.

He was one of seven men arrested in a sex-string operation by a Harris County constable, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

The Itasca ISD posted a statement on its website about the arrest.

“On June 1, 2023, the District was contacted by a detective with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department. According to the detective, Superintendent Michael Stevens was taken into custody. Until more facts are confirmed, no further information can be shared. The Board of Trustees will be convening a meeting to review this matter and take appropriate action.”
