SpaceX has filed permits to build a 700,000-square-foot facility at its Starbase site in South Texas, with construction slated to start July 1, 2025, and finish by December 2026. The privately funded, $250 million “gigabay” will support Starship manufacturing, integration, and refurbishment, NewsRadio 1080 KRLD reported.
Company filings indicate the expansion aims to scale output to as many as 1,000 reusable Starship vehicles per year by the end of the decade, enabling a higher launch cadence and supporting missions beyond Earth orbit.
