Iranian authorities cut off or restricted internet access in Tehran and other regions as anti-government protests intensified, according to CBS News. NetBlocks reported signs of a nationwide internet blackout, including earlier disruptions to backbone provider TCI in the western city of Kermanshah.

The unrest has left at least 39 people dead and more than 2,260 detained, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA). Exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi called on Iranians to chant from their homes at 8 p.m. local time, a move analysts said could influence whether protests expand or face a wider crackdown.
