ESPN SEC Network host Paul Finebaum told OutKick’s Clay Travis he is considering a Republican bid for the U.S. Senate following the Sept. 10 assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder and commentator Charlie Kirk. Finebaum said Washington contacts gauged his interest and described the tragedy as an “awakening,” according to the New York Post.
He pointed to a potential opening if Sen. Tommy Tuberville runs for Alabama governor and said he would fully commit if President Donald Trump asked. Finebaum also revealed he recently re-registered as a Republican in Alabama. A 22-year-old suspect has been charged in Kirk’s killing, and prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty.
