The Department of Public Safety added a Grand Prairie man to Texas’ most wanted sex offenders list on February 9.
DPS issued a warrant on April 21, 2021, for 37-year-old John Pecina for failure to register as a sex offender.
Due to Pecina being a convicted sex offender, he must register annually.
Initially, the perpetrator was convicted in 2014 for aggravated sexual assault of a child after an incident involving a 13-year-old girl.
Pecina was sentenced to eight years imprisonment, and in September 2019, he was released on parole.
On November 14, 2020, he was wanted for aggravated assault causing bodily injury, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and parole violation.
The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for his arrest for a parole violation on December 11, 2020.
He has connections to Grand Prairie and Granbury, Texas.
The man is 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds, with a scar on his back. Police say Pecina should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on this case can contact the Department of Public Safety. Information that leads to his arrest will result in a $3,000 reward.
