Council Member Cara Mendelsohn, who represents District 12, has added another Dallas Derby win to her belt.
Dallas Express’ readers who reside in Dallas proper are invited every month to respond to the Rate Your Council Member survey. Respondents to the survey are asked to share how effective they feel their elected representatives on the Dallas City Council were that month on a range of critical city issues like crime, homelessness, and cleanliness.
Having won every Dallas Derby since the launch of the feature, Mendelsohn can be said to be a constituent favorite as she has regularly put up far higher scores than her colleagues on the Dallas City Council.
In the August survey, Mendelsohn earned an 8.9 out of 10 for crime reduction, 8.9 for homelessness reduction, 8.6 for aggressive panhandling reduction, 8.8 for city cleanliness, 7.9 for street repair and maintenance, and 9.3 for park maintenance and cleanliness.
Her average for the month, based on the varying scores in each category, is 8.7. Her August score was not enough to impact her year-to-date standing of 8.9 last month. It remains the same.
For his part, Mayor Eric Johnson clocked a 5.4 in August’s survey. His year-to-date average score stands at a 5 out of 10.
Interim City Manager Kimberly Tolbert earned a 2.3 in August. Her year-to-date average score is 2 out of 10.
The council member to earn the lowest average for the month of August is Council Member Jaynie Schultz (District 11). She logged a 0.8 out of 10 in the survey.
