Temperatures in North Texas are expected to remain below freezing through Wednesday morning, prompting some municipalities in North Texas to adjust their operations in anticipation of the persistent conditions.

Dallas

Initially, Dallas officials announced they would reschedule court trials. However, the latest update shows that all Dallas County offices and courts have resumed normal operations as of Tuesday.

The customer service window of the municipal court will be open until 4:30 p.m.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office faced challenges with its underground infrastructure. Speaking to WFAA, officials with the office said that the pipes of the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science building froze due to the freezing temperatures, cutting off running water and putting a pause on autopsies.

The office has since restored water to the building, and autopsies are expected to resume Wednesday morning.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, the city’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade was rescheduled due to the weather. It is now set for January 20 at 9:00 a.m.
