A woman was killed earlier last week after being struck by multiple vehicles while trying to cross Interstate I-20, and the Arlington Police Department is seeking information on the incident.

Arlington police received a traffic-assistance call at about 8:42 a.m. When the police arrived at the 6300 block of West I-20 freeway, they discovered that an accident had occurred between at least one automobile and a pedestrian.

Police said the woman tried crossing the highway when she was struck by a car that failed to stop and render aid. Several other vehicles ended up running over the woman’s remains. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Traffic was shut down on the freeway for three hours while police conducted their investigation. Traffic was detoured to US 287.

Once the woman’s next of kin has been notified, the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will reveal her identity.

The Arlington police officer investigating the crash can be reached at (817) 575-8603 if anyone has any information.

Tipsters can also remain anonymous by contacting Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at (817) 469-TIPS.
