The Dallas Police Department arrested 30-year-old Lawanda Williams on May 8 for a shooting that injured two women and a man early on the morning of May 7.

The shooting happened just before midnight near Meyers Street and Al Lipscomb Way in South Dallas. Police say Williams allegedly argued with another woman, and then Williams pulled out a gun and started shooting.

The victims were shot and located by first responders.

ABC News reports the 20-year-old male victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, and the 19-year-old female victim is in stable condition.

The third victim, a 22-year-old woman, was driven to a hospital by someone. Her condition is not known.

Police said the 20-year-old and 19-year-old were waiting for a ride nearby and not a part of the argument.

Williams was taken into custody and is facing three counts of aggravated assault.

Last week, the City of Dallas Police reported 567 aggravated assault cases this year, down from last year at this time by 13.44%, 655 by this point in 2021.
