Welfare Check Leads Police To Four Fatalities Inside Terrell Home

Authorities have identified four people found dead inside a Terrell home on Christmas Eve in what investigators believe was a murder-suicide, according to the Terrell Police Department.

Officers responded to a welfare check at a residence on Rash Lane, roughly 30 miles east of Dallas, on December 24. Inside the home, officers found four individuals deceased, each suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police identified the victims as Philip Dale Humphrey, 66, of Kaufman; Sherry Lynn Bostick, 62, of Terrell; and a 12-year-old boy from Wills Point. The child’s name has not been released at the request of his family.

Authorities identified Casey Dale Humphrey, 38, of Forney, as the suspect. Police said he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigators have not released details regarding a motive or the sequence of events leading up to the shootings. The investigation remains active.
